April 19th, 2008 as part of my Vancouver / Vancouver Island vacation, I rented a car and drove the 120 kilometers north from Vancouver to Whistler. This stretch of highway is called “Sea to Sky” just to sort of get you in the mood
it’s a really nice drive.
After arriving in Whistler, I bought a daypass to go up on Whistler Mountain by gondola – a 20 minute ride or so.
I’m not sure if it’s the highest mountain I’ve ever been on but it’s surely the best view I’ve had from any mountain. It was windy and quite cold up there but it didn’t seem to matter
I wanted to get some good shots from up there.
The ‘TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival’ was going on that week but even so, Whistler Village seemed like a nice and quiet place. I wonder how things will change when the 2010 Winter Olympics are held here.
For your information, I don’t ski – however, seeing this, I might have to learn how to and return some day

I have accommodation sorted as have a friend that lives in Whistler, however, am not sure what job to apply for and then where I should apply.
Any advice will be appreciated?
Kind Regards,
Jamie
Hi. As having lived in Whistler for several years, this is what I recommend. Keep in mind that this year is going to be different for Whistler because of the Olympics.
But, if you already have accomodations, you’re halfway there…

I am USAF guy with a work visa for Canada until 2010, and I want a dual citizenship. What kind fo stuff do I need to know and what does it take to do so?
You need to check the Canadian Immigration site. You would first apply for permanent residency and after three years as a permanent resident, during which time you cannot leave Canada, you would be eligible to apply for citizenship. But it is not a simple or easy process, and there is no guarantee that you would be eligible.
