what does it take to get a dual citizinship in Canada?

Posted in canada 2010

I am USAF guy with a work visa for Canada until 2010, and I want a dual citizenship. What kind fo stuff do I need to know and what does it take to do so?

You need to check the Canadian Immigration site. You would first apply for permanent residency and after three years as a permanent resident, during which time you cannot leave Canada, you would be eligible to apply for citizenship. But it is not a simple or easy process, and there is no guarantee that you would be eligible.

  2. If after reading the website suggested above you don’t want to do it yourself. Give this private company a call "Canadian Immigration Solutions". Don’t remember their number but they are in downtown Calgary, AB.

We went through them do do all of our paperwork and though it cost a couple of pennies, we thought it was well worth the money.

To do the paperwork yourself if a nightmare. You should see my file! I am an American so the process is pretty simple but wow!!…. I’d say my file alone is four inches thick! And that was just for permanent residency.

    Good Luck!
