What do you think the Indycar schedule should look like?

They need to ad the Cleveland airport course again.
I highly doubt they’ll get 30 full time cars next year. Hell I doubt we’ll have 30 full time cars in 2015.

The split damage the sport of open wheel in North America and it’ll take more then 2 years to fix that and get 30 full time teams.

Going to be a LONG time before we get a full 33 car field for every race.

  2. I agree with bringing Cleveland back. Fontana needs to come back as well.

More expansion into areas not really raced in would help the sport grow…. like the Washington area or New England or something…. they cluster the races too much in the Mid west and NASCAR country.

30 cars next year?? NO WAY IN HECK! Maybe in 5 years if the economy turns around and more companies can afford to sponsor cars.

  3. I agree with bringing Cleveland back because it adds diversity, I think they should drop some of the ovals and bring in more diverse complicated courses because it would break up some of the monotony. I also think they should expand back toward the West Coast to even things up. As a racing fan on the West Coast I would like the opportunity to go to more than two races a year.

  4. I think Cleveland should be on there, and I would like to see IRL come back to Fontana, that track was better racing for IRL than Nascar. Not sure how soon they will ever get 30 entries again except for th Indy 500, with the economy like it is I do not see it happening any time soon.

  5. I wish the schedule could be year round.

  6. I think it sounds good! I would love to see Cleveland back on the schedule. Adding a race in Britain would be good if it is feasible.

I also think that Watkins Glen should be dropped from the schedule when its contract is over. I know it is one of the greatest road courses. I was there over the weekend. However the IRL is not yet popular enough to attract a large crowd to a remote track like the Glen. The series would be better served by adding a race in Montreal or returning to Cleveland on its original date which was the fourth of July weekend.

  7. I think they should drop Richmond, it’s a boring track to race on. I would like to see IndyCar go back to Cleveland and Monterrey CA.

Australia should be on the schedule as well.

  8. They should defiantly bring Cleveland back. There is no way there are going to be 30 cars! I wish the IRL would race at Road America. I doubt it’ll happen soon (if ever), but it’s a fantastic track and I think a lot of the drivers would enjoy it as would the fans.

  9. I don’t think it will happen with the economy the way it is right now. I think about everyone agrees that Cleveland should be on the schedule.
I think they for sure need more races. There are too many open weeks which makes it easy for people to forget about the series.
I prefer they keep the ovals and road races fairly equal. Richmond can be a good race if they open things up more like they are talking about. No doubt the last couple years it has been a very boring race.
Right now they are too much like nascar in that it is too hard to pass. They need to change that first.
Then slowly add races each year until the economy gets better.

  10. I think it sounds great. Champcar created a loyal following in Europe and with the drivers from England it only makes sense to have a race there.

As for Cleveland. The only question is why is it not on the schedule? It was a staple for the CART series and is a fan favorite. Does the IRL care about its fans?
