no sorry thats NOT the point, and the decision made by the IOC members showed that a small country has the capability and capacity to hold an olympic event, abeit at a smaller scale. a small country does not equate to non-deserving, infact with a population of roughly 4.5 million people, we have about the same population as sydney (2000 olympics) and the whole of australia wasnt part of that were they? only sydney was hosting it. so the size of the country dont really matter all that much
